A Message from Phil Bartlett

I am about to complete my second term in the Maine Senate, where I have worked hard to implement policies to stimulate our economy, improve access to higher education, contain rising health care costs, and tackle a growing energy crisis.

As chair of the Utilities and Energy Committee, I was particularly proud to lead efforts to implement Maine’s participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).  RGGI is a ten-state agreement to limit greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.  This initiative not only makes Maine a leader in tackling climate change, but it also will help lower energy costs by promoting energy conservation and supporting the development of renewable energy.
